Recently, Islamists have often arranged attacks on security forces, after in the summer of 2013 President Mohamed Morsi was ousted, who was a representative of “the Muslim Brotherhood.” The situation is the most tense in the north of the Sinai Peninsula.
After Morsi was ousted, the group “Muslim Brotherhood” has been recognized as a terrorist organization and hundreds of its activists have received death sentences. The former president is accused of collaboration with the extremists and involvement in the murders of policemen and soldiers.
