According to the source, a white car drove by Nemtsov from which four shots were made. Then the car drove away. The politician died from mortal injuries.
A member of the Bureau of the federal political council of the party RPR-Parnassus, Ilya Yashin confirmed this information to RIA Novosti.
“Unfortunately I can see the corpse of Boris Nemtsov in front of me now. Bolshoi Zamoskvoretskiy Bridge. I can see the body and there is a lot of police around,”- said Yashin.
Nemtsov was one of the founders and leaders of the social movement Solidarity, a co-chairman of the political party RPR-Parnassus, a member of the Coordination Council of Russian opposition.
He began his political career as the governor of Nizhny Novgorod region in 1991. After two terms Nemtsov went to work for the government of Russia. He was the Minister of Fuel and Energy, in 1997 he became the first deputy prime minister, was also a member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
After his retirement, in 1999-2003 – a Deputy of the State Duma, where he served as a deputy chairman of the State Duma and leader of the SPS faction.
In the regional elections on September 8, 2013 he was reelected a Deputy of the Yaroslavl Oblast Duma from the party RPR-Parnassus.
