“We are happy to welcome Russian tourists in Cambodia. Ruble or any other currency is not the main issue. The most important is that we have possibilities to develop this area in the midst of trade and economic, and investment areas,” Namhong said.
In addition, as Interfax reports, Russia and Cambodia plan to set through air service in the frame of joint operating plan on tourism cooperation for 2015-2017. According to Namhong, corresponding agreement has already been prepared, but signing date is not defined yet.
According to Ministry of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, Russian-Camobidan trade turnover is about $130 million, but its potential is estimated at billions.
Currently Russia uses national currency with some states of the CIS, Vietnam, China and North Korea. Besides, similar approach in touristic and trade areas is discussed with Egypt.
