Citing the Energy Minister Alexander Novak, this matter will be reviewed on March 4 at the intergovernmental commission between the two countries on trade and economic cooperation.
“We will discuss the issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, the participation of our enterprises and Qatar companies in joint projects, the implementation of supplying goods, equipment, joint investments and so on,” – he said.
Novak added that they will be talking about a possible involvement of the Qatar investment funds in various projects with Russian companies, including energy projects. According to the official, they have already received specific proposals from Qatar investment funds. The minister did articulate the details of these proposals.
Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) already works with investment funds of Qatar. In May of 2014 the head of the organization, Kirill Dmitriev said that Qatar’s sovereign fund will allocate $ 2 billion to joint investments with the RDIF.
