The department of Civil Defense of Dubai has already announced that there are no casualties or injured. The residents of the skyscraper, as well as of the two adjacent towers, were evacuated. All roads leading to the building were blocked by police.
There is no information yet about what caused the fire. The police said that the flames spread to some 20 floors due to the strong winds.
The fire occurred on the 50th floor of the skyscraper which is about 336 meters high. Built in Dubai in 2011, The Torch was recognized as the tallest residential building in the world. It houses 676 apartments.
