At the same time, according to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia in 2014 fell by 10.3 percent, to about 2.5 million vehicles. Total sales of cars by Renault, Nissan and AvtoVAZ fell by 7 percent in 2014, to 764,245 vehicles.
According to the forecast by AEB, in 2015 the Russian car market will shrink by 24 percent, to 1.89 million vehicles.
In June of 2014 the Renault-Nissan company finalized the deal to gain control over AvtoVAZ. Today, the share of the corporate group in the Dutch offshore company Alliance Rostec Auto BV that manages the Russian company is 67.13 percent. The share of state corporation Rostec in AvtoVAZ has dropped to 32.87 percent.
In 2012, AvtoVAZ began manufacturing cars under the brands Renault and Nissan. In 2014, the corporate group produced 575.1 thousand vehicles and assembly kits, of which 386.8 thousand were Lada cars and 133.9 thousand were cars for the Renault-Nissan alliance.
