Earlier it was reported that senior US officials and military have begun considering again the possibility of supplying Kiev with defensive weapons after new defeats of the Ukrainian army. Republican Senator John McCain warned that if Obama does not deliver arms to Kiev, then the Congress will pass a law obliging US to supply Ukraine with weapons.
In December of 2014, the US passed a law allowing the arms supplies to Ukraine. So far, Washington has sent to Kiev only non-lethal weapons.
