This was reported by TASS citing the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major-General Igor Konashenkov.
“Unlike the US intelligence, the Russian Defense Ministry never considered guesswork a reliable method of confirming any information. Especially, if it was received as a result of esoteric experiments conducted on the night of Friday to Saturday,” said Konashenkov.
Earlier, the US Ambassador to Ukraine Jeffrey Payette posted on his Twitter account photos taken by a satellite. They allegedly show Russian artillery systems in Ukraine. The US Ambassador wrote comments to the photos: “Debaltseve. We are sure these are the Russian military, and not separatists.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense always managed to come up with original responses to the verbal attacks on the part of Ukraine and the West. In late January, Konashenkov commented the statement by an employee of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Sergey Galushko, about the presence of the Russian troops in the second tier of the militia forces. “It is hard to imagine at least one more military establishment in the world where public statements are made on the principle of “every rooster wants to cock a doodle doo”,” – said Konashenkov.
On January 26, the Russian Defense Ministry called the video from the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) showing a confession of a man who corrected Mariupol fire on January 24, “a lie and expose session.”
On January 20, Konashenkov sternly denied the information of the Council of National Security and Defense (CNSD) of Ukraine that the Russian-Ukrainian border was crossed by two battalion tactical group of the Russian army. He noted that “such hallucinations” of the CNSD are not random and are an attempt to “once again sell their pig in a poke at a higher price to financial donors” at the economic forum in Davos.
